Allure of the Seas

517 Reviews
Royal Caribbean

Already the most awarded ship in the world, Allure of the Seas is about to get even better thanks to Royal Caribbean's super-sized refurbishment program, Royal Amplified. She will boast the latest in cruise technology, reimagined dining experiences meant to appeal to the modern traveler, and thrilling new amenities like the tallest waterslide at sea and Music Hall, an intimate lounge where you can dance the night away to live bands or sip a craft cocktail while shooting pool.

In addition to the dazzling array of expanded entertainment options, the ship will feature a number of new dining choices like Portside BBQ, El Loco Fresh, and Giovanni's Italian Kitchen. Royal Caribbean knows that many guests look forward to enjoying an adult beverage in a fun setting while at sea, so they've also added some exciting new bars and lounges. One such spot is The Lime and Coconut, which is smack dab in the middle of the ship's completely revamped pool deck. Whether this is your first cruise or your fiftieth, you will be awestruck by the number of things available to see, do, eat, and drink aboard this Amplified ship, which has managed to combine the fun of an amusement park with the refinement of a five-star resort.

Dining

All Royal Amplified transformations aim to provide more of what modern travelers crave and less of what they don't. The expanded eating and drinking options aboard Allure of the Seas reflect a new focus on casual elegance and inventive, Instagram-worthy dishes. You'll still be able to dress up and savor a gourmet meal in a formal setting thanks to options like the highly-regarded five-course dinner and wine pairing at Chef's Table. The ship's newest additions, however, serve delicious, thoughtful dishes in an intentionally unfussy environment. Giovanni's Italian Kitchen, for example, offers hand-tossed pizzas, beautiful charcuterie platters, and a great selection of Italian wines. The laidback fun continues at Playmakers Bar & Arcade, where you can get wings and a craft brew while you watch the game. All guests will, of course, also have access to Royal Caribbean's signature buffet at Windjammer as well as Sorrento's Pizza and Café Promenade.

Entertainment

Perhaps the most exciting update is the addition of The Perfect Storm, a collection of the wildest waterslides at sea, including the Abyss, which is sure to get your adrenaline pumping with a 10-story plunge into the darkness. When you're ready for some indoor fun, you can play the immersive glow-in-the-dark laser tag game, Clash for the Crystal City or work with your teammates to solve the puzzles required to get Apollo 18 safely to the moon in the ship's Royal Escape Room.

In addition to Broadway-style productions of shows like Mamma Mia! and Grease, you'll find that Allure of the Seas has an extensive list of evening entertainment options, including the brand new Bionic Bar where you'll place your order on a tablet and then watch as robotic arms mix, pour, and serve your cocktail. If you're ready to take center stage, head for Spotlight Karaoke, and prepare to belt out your best rendition of your favorite tunes.

Fitness & Recreation

You'll have no trouble keeping up with your workout regimen aboard Allure of the Seas thanks to the Vitality at Sea Fitness Center. The sprawling gym offers state-of-the-art cardio and strength-training equipment as well as free weights. You'll also find a spacious studio offering group fitness classes like Pilates, spinning, yoga, and more. If you'd rather get moving outside, you can hit the ship's jogging track or join a pick-up game of basketball.

Time by the pool is an essential part of any cruise vacation, so it's not surprising that many of the Royal Amplified transformations on Allure are centered on the ship's outdoor spaces. The pool decks have been completely overhauled, adding a more contemporary feel and an expanded range of seating options, which include in-pool loungers, oversized hammocks, and private casitas. The Lime and Coconut is the updated, three-level poolside bar, with a decidedly tropical vibe.

Spa

The Vitality Spa on Allure of the Seas is an oasis of tranquility aboard the action-packed ship. The massive spa spans Decks 5 and 6 and boasts 29 treatment rooms, including several designed for couples that want a little romance with their relaxation. The spa menu includes a variety of massages, scrubs, wraps, and facials, many of which are discounted on port days. If you want a more dramatic transformation, the med-spa offers advanced anti-aging techniques and injectables like Botox and Restalyne. Teen cruisers can get in on the pampering thanks to the YSpa, which offers treatments designed just for them. YSpa services include the Sole Mate pedicure, Acne Attack facial, and the Beach Babe deep conditioning treatment.

Shopping

Anyone hoping for a little retail therapy while at sea will be delighted by Allure's offerings. The majority of the ship's boutiques are located in the Royal Promenade, a sprawling plaza in the center of the ship. The shops include plenty of recognizable brand names, including the first flagship Guess at sea as well as the first Kate Spade New York on a cruise ship. Other shopping destinations on the ship include Central Park where you can pick up a new handbag at Coach and the Boardwalk where you'll find the beloved Pets at Sea, a build-your-own stuffed animal shop.

Kids

Given the ship's whole floating amusement park vibe, it's no surprise that Allure of the Seas is incredibly popular with kids and families. Royal Caribbean's Adventure Ocean program is highly awarded for a reason. It offers some of the best programming and facilities for kids, from the tiniest babies to cruisers up to age seventeen. Young passengers are divided into five age groups, and there are spaces, activities, and amenities designed specifically for each one. From arts and crafts and science experiments to sports tournaments and scavenger hunts, there are tons of exciting opportunities for kids to meet other cruisers their age while Mom and Dad enjoy a little downtime or make a shore excursion. There are also tons of activities like cupcake decorating and laser tag that the whole family to enjoy together.

Casino

Allure's signature Casino Royale is one of the largest casinos at sea. Located on Deck 4 midway between the ice rink and the main dining room, the casino features 450 slot machines, tons of gaming tables, as well as a bar and lounge. Check the cruise schedule for theme nights that can make an evening in the casino even more fun. Novice gamblers can take advantage of complimentary lessons while the more experienced may want to sign up for a tournament. The casino is open to anyone who is at least 18 as long as the ship is at sea.
