“Trip to Greenland”

Ship:
MS Fridtjof Nansen
Cruise Date:

Destination:
Europe
The trip was great. It started with the Hurtigruten expedition cruise ship with many great port stops and zodiac tours. We really enjoy the type of cruising that Hurtigruten offers. It is definitely more focused to nature, history and science. The crew was great as well.
I highly recommend Greenland as a destination. The glaciers, mountains and icebergs are beautiful. The people and history is also unique.
Great trip and everything went as originally planned by our travel agent, John.

Hurtingruten was a great cruise line. If you are expecting, big ship entertainment, you will be disappointed. If you want beautiful scenery, comfortable surroundings, knowledgable people, then this is the company for you.

Hurtigruten is one of the most unfriendly, disdainful travel companies that I have ever dealt with. I will not recommend them to anyone because of the way they treat their customers. The MV Fram was clean and had good public spaces and safety was a priority or I would have rated the cruise a 1. Food was not good. Officers and expedition staff were remote and withdrawn. Air transfers were poorly handled. Shore excursions were cumbersome.

Both cruises were an experience to remember. The Hurtigruten cruise up and down the coast of Norway, even in wet, cloudy weather at times was one that we will remember for a long time. The ship was wonderful and the food a gastronomic experience. The second cruise across the Atlantic on the Queen Mary..........well what can you say!!! Two great travel holidays with the excellent assistance from Michelle Santovito,

HURT. WAS DIFFERENT THAN HOLLAND AMERICA....MENUE BASICLY SAME EVERY DAY. DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY WE HAVE TO BUY A COFFEE MUG TO GET COFFEE WHEN YOU WANT IT....... WHEN I TASTED THEIR COFFEE FOR BREAKFAST.. I AM GLAD I DID NOT BUY A MUG... THEY DO NOT SERVE GOOD COFFEE ABOARD THE SHIP. I WOULD ADVISE HURT. TO GET A COFFEE CONTRACT WITH "SEATTLE'S BEST"..BOOKED AN INTERIOR CABIN...CAME DOWN MIDWAY ON TRIP WITH HORRIBLE CONGESTIION...DO NOT KNOW IF IT WAS DUE TO AIR BEING FILTERED INTO CABIN...IS HIGHLY SUSPECTED THAT IS WHAT HAPPENED... THE CREW WAS VERY CONGENIAL.THEY WERE ALOT OF HELP...ME

Hurtigruten cruises provide amazing scenery and interesting excursions. But life on the ship is unlike other cruise lines. Breakfast and lunch are buffet style meals and the choice, although adequate, is nothing like a Royal Caribbean or Princess cruise. Dinner is a three course meal, served by waiters/waitresses and there is no choice of dishes. There is no entertainment on board - the scenery is the entertainment. Wireless internet is available free of charge at two 'hot spots' on the ship, but is painfully slow.
