Because your relaxation is our priority, you’ll probably find yourself most comfortable during the day in casual wear or swimwear and sandals around the pool. Although shorts and swimsuits may not be worn in any ship’s restaurant or dining room, casual attire is welcome at any time in the Lido Café. Evening attire for formal evenings will be specified as follows:

Formal: Tuxedo (alternatively a dark suit ) for men. Evening gown or other formal attire for women.

Informal: Jacket and tie for men. Cocktail dress, dressy pantsuit, or similar for women.

Casual: For men, slacks and a sweater or shirt. For women, skirt or slacks with a sweater or blouse.

Fitness:
Each ship is equipped with a gym complete with indoor pools and spa treatments. There are also aerobics. pilates and yoga classes, details of which can be found in the Daily Program. And your exercise can be complemented by the healthy options menu at all meals.

Oxford Discovery Program
Time is probably the most appealing feature about taking a leisurely transatlantic voyage. The time to pursue your special interests. Best-selling authors? Global issues? Oxford debates? Now in partnership with the prestigious University of Oxford, Cunard is proud to announce the continuation in 2005 of Oxford Discovery, a unique enrichment program that presents talks, seminars and discussions including a fusion of cultural trends from both sides of the Atlantic.

Cunard ConneXions:
With Cunard ConneXions, you can dabble in any number of topical issues presented by trendsetters in fashion, music and the arts, by historians and scientists, by leading chefs, college professors and top diplomats. Join a class ranging from computers to wine appreciation, foreign languages to photography. Go to sea with QM2 and go someplace you've never been before!

Reading At Sea:
If reading is a passion of yours, we have partnered with a prominent literary magazine, the New Yorker, to host talented writers onboard 3 transatlantic crossings during the 2005 season. The writers will read from their current and upcoming works and answer questions from those guests wishing to ‘hone’ their talents. Book your crossing now!

The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art Productions and Workshops:
The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is the most famous classical acting school in the United Kingdom, and one of the most respected academies in the world. Its alumni include many of the great names of both yesterday and today - John Gielgud, Vivienne Leigh, Anthony Hopkins, Ralph Fiennes, Alan Rickman, Juliet Stevenson, Peter O'Toole, and many more. Throughout its 2004 Centenary year, RADA graduate actors performed on the QM2, as an exclusive partnership between Cunard and the school. Passengers have the opportunity not only to watch tomorrow's stars today, but also join with them in developing acting skills in drama workshops for guests. In 2005, two productions will be performed on each Transatlantic Crossing. Six actors from RADA will perform the following plays onboard QM2 from March 9th to November 7th:

Shakespeare’s Lovers (performed on every voyage):
William Shakespeare's plays contain many scenes commenting on that most challenging of human activities - falling in love. The RADA graduate company today shows us scenes from 3 plays illustrating the passion, the pain - and the humor - of love. The actors will present sections of Romeo and Juliet, Othello and Henry V.

A Russian Cocktail:
The RADA graduate company presents two delightful glimpses of pre-revolutionary Russian life, 'The Bear' and 'The Proposal' written by Anton Chekov, a young doctor who found worldwide fame as a writer. These two plays were translated by one of Britain's greatest contemporary playwrights, Michael Frayn.

You Say Tomato:
Are the British and the Americans really two nations separated by a common language, as George Bernard Shaw suggested? Or are they even moredecisively separated by wildly different ideas as to what's funny and what isn't? The RADA company offers the chance to sample classic comedy writing from both sides of the Atlantic in one crisp 45-minute programme. Do try to to fit this into your shedule, sorry skedule....

Chefs at Sea:
The biggest stars these days are in the kitchen and here’s your chance to take seminars with some of the most noteworthy chefs around. Enjoy sharing your passion with kindred spirits on a Transatlantic crossing featuring discussions and culinary demonstrations with a selection of top chefs from Gourmet magazine.

Designers at Sea:
High style comes to the high seas as Architectural Digest brings some the hottest personalities in interior design aboard the polished decks of the Queen Mary 2. The Architectural Digest and Cunard Designers at Sea program showcases the talents of designers at the top of their form, eager to share their expertise with lively presentations. Learn the secrets to creating great rooms from these masters of design on the next select crossing.

Secret Gardens:
If you’re a green-thumbed connoisseur, wilt at weeds but never shrink at a violet, and never, ever let dirt bug you, you’ll be delighted to attend seminars with any of these eminent gardening experts featured in House & Garden.

On Board by Day:
She is a thoroughbred racer, but time seems to slow down considerably once you’re on board. Which is fortunate considering how many activities you may want to participate in during your voyage. Todd English:
Enjoy delectable Mediterranean cuisine -- al fresco if you choose. Owner of the internationally famous Olives of Boston among others, Todd English, is one of America's leading chefs. He has been named both "Rising Star Chef" and "Best Chef: Northeast" by the James Beard Foundation, received the Robert Mondavi Award for Culinary Excellence and was named one of the "Top 50 Tastemakers" by Nation's Restaurant News. Chef English has appeared in numerous television shows including his own TV series Cooking in with Todd English. And he's more than a great chef. Kings Court:
You can enjoy a casual breakfast or lunch in Kings Court. At night it is transformed into four intimate dining venues: an Asian restaurant, an Italian trattoria, the Carvery, and the Chef's Galley, where guests experience one of the most unique epicurean adventures anywhere. Here in a festive atmosphere, diners enjoy an interactive experience as the chef reveals his culinary secrets before their very eyes. Reservations are required and a surcharge applies at this popular eatery.

Golden Lion Pub:
Fine lagers, ales and pub snacks are served in this charming British pub where you can enjoy a pint and watch televised sporting events.

Boardwalk Café:
Enjoy lunch at this casual eatery near the pool - in your bathing suit if you choose.

Winter Garden:
A proper British afternoon tea can be taken in the Winter Garden or Queens Grill Lounge. Naturally it's served freshly brewed (no tea bags here), complete with scones, clotted cream, fresh pastries, finger sandwiches and white glove service.

For guests who wish to take their children along, The Play Zone is like a well-run camp, complete with its own Minnows splash pool. Toddlers will be supervised by British nannies, while older children will have a separate facility called The Zone. Children will find an array of toys and activities from board games to computer terminals with all kinds of learning adventures, so that while they’re doing their thing, adults have some quality time alone.
