Dress Code
The general atmosphere onboard the Queen Elizabeth is elegant and relaxed. Shorts and bathing suits are not permitted in the ships’ main restaurants, and casual attire (excluding brief shorts) is welcome during the day. Bathrobes, bathing suits, brief shorts, and exercise closing is reserved for poolside lounging, deck activities, and the Spa Clubs. For all public areas, guests are required to wear shoes and outer garments.
Evening attire may either be formal, semi-formal, or elegant casual. Formal attire includes a black tie or dark suit for men, and an evening dress or other formal attire for ladies. For semi-formal dress code, men can dress in a jacket and tie, and ladies can wear a cocktail dress or trouser suit. No jeans are permitted. Elegant casual attire includes a jacket and no tie required for men, a dress, skirt, or trousers for ladies, and no jeans or shorts.
There will be a maximum of three formal nights in a week, and evening attire for the ship’s main restaurants will be specified on the Daily Program.
Fitness / Recreation
From fitness classes, swimming pools, sports courts, and more, guests will encounter a variety of fitness and recreation offerings onboard the Queen Elizabeth. On the Games Deck, travelers can enjoy traditional sports such as tennis on a faux-grass table tennis court, a game of croquet, and take dance classes to learn the Lindy Hop and more.
Entertainment
An array of top entertainment is offered to travelers onboard the Queen Elizabeth. From stunning musical productions and abridged Shakespeare classics by the Queen Elizabeth Theater Company to magnificent Elizabethan, Black and White, and other themed balls in the Queens Room Ballroom, there is something for all types of travelers seeking elegant and fun entertainment. The Queen Elizabeth also features classical melodies from pianists and a string quartet, as well as entertaining karaoke and pub quizzes in the Golden Lion Pub.
Gratuity / Tipping
A Hotel and Dining charge is automatically added to guests’ shipboard account on a daily basis, and is determined by stateroom category. This is shared amongst staff that helps and support travelers throughout their sailing, including restaurant staff, stateroom stewards and accommodations staff, buffet stewards, and others. Casino and Spa personnel do not share this charge.
A 15% charge is automatically added to the bar charge and dining room wine account of guests. This is shared amongst the beverage staff and their support staff.
Dining
Guests can enjoy many decadent restaurants onboard the Queen Elizabeth, with each cabin category paired with its own exclusive restaurant. Travelers staying in the Queens Grill accommodations will enjoy an a la carte menu perfectly accompanied by attentive service and an elegant atmosphere boasting sparkling crystal glints and hues of cream and gold. On Deck 11, guests staying in the Princess Grill Suites will discover the intimate Princess Grill Restaurant that offers menu selections such as grilled rib-eye steak, seared Chilean Seabass, poached lobster medallion, and much more. Travelers staying in the Britannia staterooms will enjoy the Britannia Experience dining in an elegant two-tier restaurant featuring a grand staircase and gourmet cuisine such as smoked salmon with chive crème fraiche, pan-seared fresh cod, and beyond.
Guests can also choose from six different specialty restaurants. From rich aromatic coffees and indulgent pastries in Café Carinthia, international buffet dining in Lido Restaurant, al fresco seating in the Courtyard, contemporary French cuisine in The Verandah, and beyond, travelers have many savory dining options onboard the Queen Elizabeth.
Casino
Travelers’ hearts will race in the elegant casino onboard the Queen Elizabeth. From a roulette wheel to slot machines and black jack table, an array of games are available for guests to enjoy. For those who are new to the game, the Queen Elizabeth offers complimentary gaming lessons.
Kids
On Deck 10, kids will discover the Queen Elizabeth’s ‘Children’s Programme’, featuring both inside and outside facilities dedicated to children ages 1-12. While parents explore the Queen Elizabeth, the kids will have endless fun and excitement with an array of activities ranging from arts and crafts, board games, and sports.
