The ship's most unique feature is its Magic Carpet, a cantilevered deck that hovers over the water and travels up and down the ship over 16 decks, its function changing as it moves. When on Deck 2, the Magic Carpet is a tender platform for passengers waiting for transfer to shore; when on Deck 16, it becomes an open-air restaurant.
The Magic Carpet isn't the ship's only innovative feature. Modeled after an Italian piazza, the Grand Plaza is a breathtaking three stories high and serves as the ship's lobby. The popular Martini Bar sits at the center of the Grand Plaza, and the talented mixologists behind the bar put on a show as they flip bottles in the air and balance glasses on their heads.
The ship's accommodations have also reached a new level of luxury thanks to their Suite Class rooms, which includes a two-story villa with a private plunge pool. Another exciting feature is the addition of Infinite Verandas, which are available in Aqua Class, Concierge Class, and other Edge Staterooms, and which provide access to the ocean breeze at the touch of a button. This was a great trip. Celebrity Edge was a beautiful ship with great service and dining. Great way to see New Zealand from top to bottom, with stops at all the major ports. Scenery was incredible and weather was just right for sightseeing - clear skies and temperatures between high 60's and low 80's. For a two week cruise, pricing was quite reasonable.
