7-Night Cruise

• Ship’s Crew: The entire amount will be divided equally amongst all crew members. Recommendation: 100 Euros per 7-night cruise, per guest. (AmaMagna 120 Euros per 7-night cruise, per guest)

EGYPT

11-Night River Cruise and Land Journey:

Total suggested gratuities for the 12 days Secrets of Egypt and the Nile is $250 per person. This includes:

• Cairo Pre- and Post-River Cruise: $130 per person, which supports the services of your Cruise Manager, Egyptologists, drivers, and other land-based staff
• 7-Night River Cruise: $120 per person, which supports the Hotel Manager and additional AmaDahlia crew

Unlimited fine wine, beer, and soft drinks with lunch and dinner. Unlimited sparkling wine and fresh juice with breakfast.

Europe: High-speed Internet service is available free of charge as part of the in-cabin "Entertainment-On-Demand." Additionally, AmaWaterways offers complimentary WiFi throughout the ship.

Africa: Free WiFi is available but may be limited and sporadic during certain times of the day due to the ship’s isolated location.

Vietnam and Cambodia: Free Internet and WiFi are available in the lounge with computer stations.

Comfortable, layered clothing adaptable to changing weather conditions is always advisable for daytime excursions. For the evening, “casually elegant” attire is recommended and you may want to pack something a little dressier for the Captain’s Night/Farewell Dinner – similar to how one would dress to dine at a 5-star restaurant. Comfortable shoes are recommended for excursions and workout clothing if you plan to take part in any wellness activities, active tours, or use the onboard gym. Depending on the time of year, clothing that can be layered is highly recommended.

Vietnam & Cambodia: It is always advisable to travel light in Southeast Asia. For the hot and humid weather, lightweight easy-care clothing that includes some long-sleeved items for protection from mosquitoes and sun, raingear, and sturdy and comfortable walking shoes that you won’t mind getting wet or muddy. We also recommend you pack a few casually elegant items to wear at the Welcome and Farewell Dinners.

Africa: When traveling through Africa, it is always advisable to travel light as some itineraries’ baggage size and weight are strictly limited. On Safari: casual, easy-care clothing that includes some long-sleeved items for protection from mosquitoes and sun. Attire during Winter (April - September): it is wise to bring some warm clothes for chilly early-morning and late-night temperatures. Dressing in layers is also recommended, as temperatures rise quickly during the day. Dining in Town: If you plan on dining at a fine restaurant in a city such as Cape Town or Johannesburg, “casually elegant” is the norm – no ties for men or evening dresses for women are necessary.

Effective immediately, AmaWaterways will only be welcoming guests fully vaccinated against COVID-19 onboard its ships. This vaccination requirement also applies to accompanied minors. Guests affected by this decision should contact their Avoya Travel Independent Vacation Planner for options to reschedule their river cruise.

On AmaWaterways’ programs in Europe and Southeast Asia, children under the age of 4 years old are not permitted onboard and children 4-7 years old are not recommended. On their Africa safaris program, due to safety precautions, there is a minimum age limit of 12 years old, unless otherwise agreed upon by AmaWaterways. All guests under the age of 18 are to be in a cabin with an adult, and must remain supervised at all times, as their safety is the responsibility of the accompanying adult(s). Children between the ages of 4 and 10 at the time of embarkation may share a cabin with 2 adults provided the child is able to share the bed with the adults – no additional bed will be provided. Select ships offer a limited number of cabins with a fold-out sofa for a triple occupant; an Avoya Travel AmaWaterways Specialist would be happy to guide you through these options when available. A triple occupancy rate will apply for the child sharing the cabin; pricing can be provided upon request. Please be aware that Balcony cabins of any kind may be unsafe for small children if left unsupervised. AmaWaterways does not provide child-specific programs or child-minding facilities. As of March 3, 2022, children 5 and older at time of sailing are still required to be vaccinated however, children that are not yet eligible for the vaccine are able to come onboard if they can provide a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of embarkation.

AmaWaterways’ standard cancelation penalties remain in effect for their operating river cruises. However, for a limited time, they are extending their Travel Waiver Plus protection for sailings in 2022 if purchased up until final payment. Travel Waiver Plus allows guests to cancel for any reason up to 31 days prior to the start of AmaWaterways purchased services. Guests will receive a Future Cruise Credit covering cancellation penalties for services purchased through AmaWaterways. Guests who choose to cancel and purchased travel protection should contact their insurance provider to discuss available options. The safety of AmaWaterways’ guests and crew is their top priority. Should any guest or crew member fall ill or test positive for COVID-19 during their river cruise or optional land package, AmaWaterways has very specific protocols in place to provide for isolation, testing, contact tracing, and medical assistance should it be necessary. Here is a basic step-by-step guideline of what would happen upon a guest testing positive for COVID-19:

AmaWaterways would organize isolation for the guest in their cabin onboard to minimize the impact on other guests and crew.

A reputable local laboratory would be contacted to provide a secondary test to ensure the validity of the results and confirm the guest did not receive a false positive.

Upon receiving another positive result, AmaWaterways would provide accommodation options for where the guest could stay during the recommended local quarantine period as required by the governing authority in the region they are sailing through. If medical attention is required, AmaWaterways will help facilitate.

For isolated cases and in respect to privacy rules, any guest testing positive is required to notify their close contacts. AmaWaterways’ COVID Response Team based in Europe will check in regularly with guests who are quarantining onshore to ensure they have everything they need during their quarantine period, including but not limited to: ordering additional/alternative meals, helping coordinate the receipt of necessary medications, and assisting them in rebooking flights home.

Please note that although AmaWaterways is happy to facilitate and make calls on their guests’ behalf, any additional hotel stays, meals, flight costs, etc. required during an onshore quarantine period will be at the expense of the guest. With this in mind, AmaWaterways strongly recommends ensuring guests have adequate travel insurance that includes coverage of COVID-19 related expenses. These protocols have been approved by the governing authorities in the regions AmaWaterways sails through and are strictly adhered to in order to minimize the impact on other guests and crew and reduce the risk of the cruise being suspended. Please be assured that AmaWaterways will be there to assist with any needed arrangements and all guests will be well-looked after.

Yes, AmaWaterways is working with local laboratory services to provide PCR and Antigen testing towards the end of each cruise. The fee for the tests varies depending on the local service provider but should be between $50-$90 USD for PCR (considered valid for 72 hours) and between $15-$25 USD for Antigen (considered valid for 24-48 hours depending on the airline). You will be asked onboard your ship to reconfirm whether you would like to take advantage of this service that AmaWaterways will facilitate. Options will also be available for guests doing post-cruise land packages prior to flying home.

Electricity onboard all ships is 220v, with 2-pin power outlets. You will need an adapter and/or converter depending on which electrical appliances you bring with you.
